Hi all, just found this site, my grandfather was in the kings own royal Lancaster regiment . Any tips on how I can find where he was posted , I have his ,no,21399, Charles Carter. Some of his records were saved from the fire that destroyed a lot of records , but I cannot find where he was sent , any help would be much appreciated

Welcome Angela. From the things you have see, have you figured out his battalion?
I have had a chance to look at this now. His service record (which can be found at Ancestry and Findmypast) says that he went to Framce on 3 June 1916 with the regiment’s 11th (Service) Battalion.
On 5 February 1918 he transferred to the 2/5th Battalion and on 19 March 1918 was absorbed into the 1/5th Battalion.

The 11th Bn was part of 40th Division, while the two others were with 57th and 55th Divisions. You can find a history of all three on the same site.
