TMB's CWGC records

I may be missing something obvious but how do I search for deaths within a TMB unit on the CWGC website? For example 147th TMB

Ignore my first reply. Apologies.

Didn’t see it, so no problems!!

Never easy. The Light and Medium batteries were manned by infantry and the casualties will appear under their regiment. If you are lucky, the TMB will be mentioned as their unit or secondary unit. The Heavy batteries were manned by RGA.

Thanks Chris, most helpful

It is entirely possible that the TMB fatalities will / may be listed in the cwgc database as a secondary unit, but you then have the problem that the publicly accessible database is FAR TOO BIG to allow you to download all the possible fatalities. You could put the question to cwgc - but good luck with that as they probably won’t understand the question

If you enter just the phrase ‘trench mortar’ in the secondary unit field, 880 casualties are returned. It’s very doubtful that this is all of them, but it’s a start.

Thank you Chris. We all know that research isn’t always simple!
